Are there any plans to implement mpeg4 SP / ASP. Your encoder is already outputting H.264 which if I'm not mistaken is part of the mpeg4 specification.
Many devices use MPEG4 SP only - My Zen Vision M for example and many of the DIVX supporting set top boxes.
While I'd love to see even broader format output support I understand only using one to maintain stability etc.
Excuse my ignorance but would it not be relatively simple to add the mpeg4 SP / ASP option as its part of the mpeg4 spec ?

Re: MPEG4-SP ./ ASP Support
That would be quite a task! Even though they are both part of MPEG-4, SP/ASP (MPEG-4 Part 2) and H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) define different formats and are actually not very similar. While some devices do use MPEG-4 SP, more of today's popular devices are using H.264.
Time for a new MP3 player then
Well suppose its time to buy a new mp3 player then..... just have to remember to make sure it has full mpeg4 standard support.
Are there plans to support other codecs in the future or is H.264 seen as the right format for the majority of devices?
Re: Time for a new MP3 player then
The current plan for the future in regards to output is to support codecs such as MPEG-2, VC-1, etc... and containers such as .MKV.
