Tried the trial on an HD mkv file, and it converted fine, plays in VLC fine. 360 throws an immediate error (69-80004005). Kind of renders it a bit useless then. Same file plays fine on a PS3. Any ideas ?
no xbox 360 HD ??Submitted by lansalot on Sun, 01/04/2009 - 13:23 |

:(
Grabbed the new version, encoding a 1080p mkv to 1920x1080 for xbox 360 still produces a file the 360 won't play. Anyone ?
it might be due to the fact
it might be due to the fact the file size it too big - i know if you are streaming xbox 360 only support files less than 4.5gb
hmm
Thanks, but file was only 2.8gb. Tried on USB key as well as streaming. Same thing.
think it's a fault
When I encode at 1920 x 1080 the resulting .mp4 is not playable, even on windows and MediaInfo can't open it. Funny thing is if I cancel the encoding before it's finished the file is playable, also if I encode at much lower res the file is playable as well.
I think it's a fault in the badaboom media converter.
If you get the file too big error in Xbox (C00D10E0) you can always stream it with Tversity but you have to force transcode it.

Xbox360
The Xbox360 does not support HD content in anything but the .wmv container. I ran across this issue recently and just thought I would share. Microsoft states they are working on opening up more formats, but no ETA.
That is why when you force transcode in Tversity it will work. Tversity is downscaling the file.
The PS3 though, has no such restrictions and usually plays everything I throw at it.
The 360 does support HD formats
That simply isnt true, the Xbox 360 supports XviD/DivX and MP4(H.264/AAC) at 720p resolution. For those not able to play MP4 files from Badaboom on the 360, try enabling CABAC, and set the profile to "main" at level 4.1.
It works fine for me...
hallo ich habe die selben
hallo ich habe die selben Probleme mit den Files der Xbox360 Presets..
keine Einstellung in Bababoom 1.2.1 funktioniert mit der XBox360... noLevel 4.1 auch kein anderer.
MEDIA INFO checks the file an the settings are the same when i create a file in SuperLoiloscope.
The files from SuperLoiloscope runs 100%stable 720p- 1080i 25p or 30p ->29,97..
what is the problem??

Frustrated
Try encoding a file to iphone format, which should result in a .mp4 and play that on your XBOX360. For me this has worked, although not with the quality that I would prefer. The .mp4 format does work, so this then begs the question why the XBOX360 settings in Badaboom won't work when playing.
Can we please get a response on why I cannot transcode HD content to the XBOX360 setting in Badaboom? If this is a Microsoft limitation then can we get an official response from Elemental stating that there is a known issue, rather than letting the assumption be that HD .MP4's from Badaboom work?
